Lyrics

Did you ever see a fishie on a hot summer day?
Did you ever see a fishie out swimming in the bay?
With his hands in his pockets and his pockets in his pants.
Did you ever see a fishie do a boogie woogie dance?
You never did, you never will!

Did you ever see a fishie on a cold winter day?
Did you ever see a fishie out frozen in the bay?
With his hands in his pockets and his pockets in his pants.
Did you ever see a fishie do a boogie woogie dance?
You never did, you never will!

  1. The movements we used included having one girl stand behind the other. The girl in the back puts her hands in front and the girl in the front keeps her hands in pockets or otherwise out of sight. Whenever you sing “fishie” and “swimming in the bay” bring palms together with thumbs pointing up and make swimming movements. For “frozen in the bay” make the fishie but he doesn’t move. For “Hot summer day” fan hand toward face. For “cold winter day” make shivering moves. For “hands in his pockets and his pockets in his pants” tap hands to the front of legs where pockets would be. For “boogie woogie dance” shake hips side to side. For “you never did, you never will” shake finger in a no fashion. We also clapped twice between those 2 phrases.
